MEDAN – Wakil Ketua DPRD Medan, H Ihwan Ritonga SE MM, kembali mengingatkan tentang aturan merokok yang telah diatur dalam Peraturan Daerah (Perda) No 3 Tahun 2014 tentang Kawasan Tanpa Rokok (KTR).
Ia meminta warga agar tidak merokok di sembarang tempat. Bila tidak mengindahkan, pelaku dapat dikenakan hukuman denda hingga kurungan.
Ini disampaikan Ihwan Ritonga saat melakukan sosialisasi perda tersebut di dua lokasi pada hari yang sama, Minggu (4/2/2024). Siangnya, Ihwan melaksanakan sosialisasi di Jalan Santun Kecamatan Medan Kota. Dan sore harinya dilanjutkan di Jalan Halat Gang Wakaf, Kecamatan Medan Area.
“Perda KTR ini hadir untuk menciptakan ruang lingkungan yang bersih dan sehat. Serta memberikan perlindungan kepada warga dari dampak rokok,” ujar Ihwan.
Calon legislatif DPRD Sumut pada pileg 2024 ini mengatakan, Perda KTR untuk kepentingan kualitas kesehatan manusia, agar memperoleh udara bersih, sehat dan bebas dari asap rokok.
“Perda ini juga untuk menciptakan kesadaran masyarakat agar selalu menerapkan pola hidup sehat. Bukan untuk melarang warga merokok. Tapi mengatur lokasi mana saja yang boleh dan tidak boleh merokok di fasilitas umum maupun ruang publik. Mrokoklah di tempat yang sudah disiapkan pengelola tempat,” ujar Ihwan Ritonga.
Dikatakannya, dalam Perda KTR juga telah diatur bahwa bagi warga yang merokok di tempat-tempat yang seharunya menjadi kawasan tanpa rokok, akan diberi sanksi.
“Sanksinya berupa denda hingga kurungan. Pidana kurungan paling lama 3 (tiga) bulan atau denda paling banyak Rp50.000.000 (lima puluh juta rupiah),” ungkap Ihwan.
Politisi, yang oleh emak-emak pendukungnya acap kali digelari ‘Dewan Terganteng’, mengharapkan, agar warga memanfaatkan area merokok yang disediakan pengelola tempat, kantor maupun instansi lainnya.
“Ada beberapa area yang termasuk Kawasan Tanpa Rokok, seperti, fasilitas pelayanan kesehatan, area sekolah atau tempat proses belajar mengajar lainnya, tempat anak-anak bermain, tempat ibadah, angkutan umum, tempat kerja, dan tempat umum lainnya,” jelasnya.
Kedatangan Ihwan Ritonga di lokasi ini, mendapat sambutan antusias dari ratusan warga yang hadir. Seruan “Pak Ihwan Mantap Kali” berkali-kali terdengar menyambut Ihwan.
Tersenyum, Ihwan kemudian berterima kasih atas dukungan warga selama ini, hingga dirinya duduk di legislatif sebagai salah satu pimpinan dewan.
“Terima kasih atas dukungan yang bapak dan ibu berikan kepada saya selama ini. Marilah terus bersama-sama kita rajut silaturahmi ini,” ujarnya disambut tepuk warga. (Red)
